    A modified CM algorithm for blind equalization of MPSK signals

    A new blind equalization algorithm for application to wireless communication employing MPSK signals is proposed in this paper.&nbsp; Since the new cost function exploits the amplitude and phase information simultaneously, the proposed algorithm can provide a superior performance than the conventional constant modulus algorithm (CMA) which only use the amplitude knowledge in its cost function.&nbsp; Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations both demonstrate that the steady-state mean square error (MSE) for the proposed algorithm is less than that of the CMA.<br /

    魯迅留學日本期間確立了此後的發展方向,也對中國未來的道路作出了深刻的思考。他認爲,中國應通過革命推翻帝制而驟列於共和,從此發展科學和工業,走向繁榮富强,同時要改造國民性,建設好精神文明。中國是一文明古國,又是深受列强侵略的弱國,因此不可能走西方的老路,而應堅持反對帝國主義的鬥争,也不去照搬西方式的議會民主,以便建立起具有中國特色的高度文明的“人國”。魯迅的設想中有著某種難以説明白的理想主義,他當時寄希望於超人式的“精神界之戰士”,則明顯受到無政府主義思潮的一些影響。他在成長的過程中還有很長的路要走

    庾信的生平創作及其意義 : 《中國中古文學史》的一個片段

    庾信(513—581)前半生在南朝梁爲宫廷文人,所作詩賦皆爲“宫體”;後半生不得已而在北,儘管北周的高層人士對他非常尊重客氣,但他内心深處總是有些矛盾和痛苦,並融化而進入其詩賦和文章之中。作爲使節他在被扣留之初,曾遭軟禁三年,其時的作品《傷心賦》《小園賦》《枯樹賦》飽含痛苦的心情,也流露了行將轉身的意向。後來作於天和四年(569)的《哀江南賦》,則深刻地總結了蕭梁王朝由盛而衰以至於滅亡的歷史教訓,文辭曲折典雅,歷來得到很高的評價。他詩和文也都達到很高的水準,其中同樣隱含了他對自己轉身的解釋和哀歎。當年的時代主潮在於民族融合,庾信認同鮮卑族主導的北周政權,肯同他們合作,是正常的;而不斷抒發其鄉關故國之思,則表現了對華夏文化大流的熱愛與眷念,深刻地符合中古歷史發展的大方向。要瞭解其時歷史發展過程中的波瀾與漩渦,庾信的作品包括那些諛墓諸文都具有很高的價值。 Yu Xin 庾信 (513 - 581 CE) had been a court official in the Southern Liang dynasty and wrote palace style poetry before he was confined to the non-Sinitic Norther Zhou dynasty. Despite the respect he received from its officials and nobles, he wrote his internal conflict, distress, and forthcoming resign into his poetry and prose, including “Shangxin fu” 傷心賦 (Rhapsody on a Broken Heart), “Xiaoyuan fu” 小園賦 (Rhapsody on a Small Garden) , and “Kushu fu” 枯樹賦 (Rhapsody on a Withered Tree) which he wrote during the first three years of his confinement as a diplomatic envoy. Yu’s masterpiece written in 569 CE, “Ai Jiangnan fu” 哀江南賦 (Rhapsody Lamenting the South) chronicles the Southern Liang dynasty from prosperity to decline, and its literary elegance and intricacy has received high praise. Despite his resign, ethnic amalgamation was the mainstream at the time. Yu acknowledged the Northern Zhou dynasty ruled by the Xianbei people and was willing to collaborate with its ruling class. However, the nostalgia and reminiscence in his works show his ardent love for the culture in China proper. Yu’s works, including the epitaphs he wrote, are of great value in understanding the grand historical development in the Chinese medieval time

    3D hydrodynamic analysis of a biomimetic robot fish

    This paper presents a three-dimensional (3D) computational fluid dynamic simulation of a biomimetic robot fish. Fluent and user-defined function (UDF) is used to define the movement of the robot fish and the Dynamic Mesh is used to mimic the fish swimming in water. Hydrodynamic analysis is done in this paper too. The aim of this study is to get comparative data about hydrodynamic properties of those guidelines to improve the design, remote control and flexibility of the underwater robot fish

    A new blind signal separation algorithm for instantaneous MIMO system

    We address the problem of adaptive blind source separation (BSS) from instantaneous multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channels. In this paper, we propose a new constant modulus (CM)-based algorithm which employ nonlinear function as the de-correlation term. Moreover, it is shown by theoretical analysis that the proposed algorithm has less mean square error (MSE), i.e., better separation performance, in steady state than the cross-correlation and constant modulus algorithm (CC-CMA). Numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed result.<br /

    Multi-robot hunting in dynamic environments

    This paper is concerned with multi-robot hunting in dynamic environments. A BCSLA approach is proposed to allow mobile robots to capture an intelligent evader. During the process of hunting, four states including dispersion-random-search, surrounding, catch and prediction are employed. In order to ensure each robot appropriate movement in each state, a series of strategies are developed in this paper. The dispersion-search strategy enables the robots to find the evader effectively. The leader-adjusting strategy aims to improve the hunting robots&rsquo; response to environmental changes and the outflank strategy is proposed for the hunting robots to force the evader to enter a besieging circle. The catch strategy is designed for shrinking the besieging circle to catch the evader. The predict strategy allows the robots to predict the evader&rsquo;s position when they lose the tracking information about the evader. A novel collision-free motion strategy is also presented in this paper, which is called the direction-optimization strategy. To test the effect of cooperative hunting, the target to be captured owns a safety-motion strategy, which helps it to escape being captured. The computer simulations support the rationality of the approach.<br /

    Kinematic modeling of a bio-inspired robotic fish

    This paper proposes a kinematic modeling method for a bio-inspired robotic fish based on single joint. Lagrangian function of freely swimming robotic fish is built based on a simplified geometric model. In order to build the kinematic model, the fluid force acting on the robotic fish is divided into three parts: the pressure on links, the approach stream pressure and the frictional force. By solving Lagrange\u27s equation of the second kind and the fluid force, the movement of robotic fish is obtained. The robotic fish\u27s motion, such as propelling and turning are simulated, and experiments are taken to verify the model.<br /

    Old-Age Support System and Policy Reform in China

    With the on-going economic transition from the central planned system to a marketoriented system, the population aging process in China is also accelerating, and the support system for the elderly becomes an important issue demanding attention. With data from Chinese national statistics and a regional probability sampling survey in Wuhan Area, two supporting systems for the aged in China are examined in this paper. After a briefing of the population aging process in China, a detailed discussion of the two supporting systems, i.e. the formal and the informal support systems for the aged, including arrangement, operation and funding mechanisms of the systems, is made in terms of policy reform. Then follows an international comparison to highlight features and problems of the Chinese systems. Finally, solutions are proposed for the restructuring of China's pension systems

    Uptake and transport of a novel anticancer drug-delivery system: lactosyl-norcantharidin-associated N-trimethyl chitosan nanoparticles across intestinal Caco-2 cell monolayers

    In this paper, novel liver-targeting nanoparticles (NPs), lactosyl-norcantharidin (Lac-NCTD)-associated N-trimethyl chitosan (TMC) NPs (Lac-NCTD-TMC-NPs), were prepared using ionic cross-linkage. The physical properties, particle size, and encapsulation efficiency of the nanoparticles were then investigated. The continuous line of heterogeneous human epithelial colorectal adenocarcinoma cells (Caco-2) cell monolayer model was used to study the transport mechanism of Lac-NCTD, and the effects of factors such as time, temperature, pH level, drug concentration, enhancers, and inhibitors. This model was also used to indicate the differences among Lac-NCTD, Lac-NCTD-associated chitosan NPs (Lac-NCTD-CS-NPs), and Lac-NCTD-TMC- NPs in the absorption and transportation of membranes. Drug concentration levels were measured using high-performance liquid chromatography. Active transport and paracellular transport were suggested to be both the primary and secondary mechanisms for Lac-NCTD absorption, respectively. Lac-NCTD uptake and absorption were not controlled by pH levels, but were positively correlated to uptake time, and negatively correlated to temperature. The basolateral to apical apparent permeability coefficients (Papps) were higher than those of the apical to basolateral values. The inhibitor of P-glycoprotein and the multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 significantly enhanced the uptake amount of Lac-NCTD. Compared with Lac-NCTD, Lac-NCTD-CS-NPs and Lac-NCTD-TMC-NPs significantly enhanced drug absorption. Additionally, the latter exhibited stronger action. Lac-NCTD-NPs could penetrate the plasma membrane of Caco-2 cells and translocate into the cytoplasm and even into the nucleus. Nanoparticles were uptaken into Caco-2 cells through the endocytosis pathway
